Heading to the Tacoma Dome? Bring only your clear bag, the venue has strict guidelines
The Tacoma Dome's schedule is packed with events in the coming days as regional high schools and colleges hold a slew of graduation ceremonies.
On June 10 and 11, Yelm and South Kitsap high schools will be holding their graduation ceremonies at the venue. More schools and districts will be hosting their ceremonies there every day through June 20. K-pop group Twice will also perform on June 16.
With all those graduates, friends, family and K-pop fans on hand, it’ll be essential to bring the right bag. The Tacoma Dome has a strict clear bag policy. Here's what to know about the venue's policy on bags and attendee alternatives.
The Tacoma Dome prohibits most types of bags from entering the venue. Enforcing the use of clear bags allows security to quickly assess their contents during entry screening. The dome states that it permits bags that fits the following criteria:
Bags must be clear and made from plastic, vinyl or Polyvinyl chloride
Small-clutch purses sized 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches only
Bags must be sized 12 inch by 6 inch by 12 inch or smaller
One gallon plastic storage bags are acceptable
Diaper bags that are clear and fit the clear bag size requirements are acceptable
Medical devices too large or bulky to fit in an appropriately-sized clear bag can be carried into the venue
Bags must be completely clear. Visitors cannot carry in bags that are color-tinted, have glitter or are meshed.
Visitors also cannot stash away unclear bags inside their clear ones to carry them inside the premises.
Backpacks are also banned.
Tacoma Dome event attendees can store their belongings in a Binbox Locker if stopped by security. The boxes vary in sizes from large to small and cost $10-$15. They can only be paid for by card.
The Tacoma Dome offers clear bags at its Stocklist online store for $12. Clear bags are also sold on site during select events. You can call ahead to customer service at 253-272-3633 for more information.
