TranzX Announces $499 Wireless Dropper Post

The 30-year-old component company today released its EDP01 wireless dropper post. The unit is the only wireless setup in its dropper array. In a press release, TranzX touted the EDP01's affordability, which checks out — it's priced near the bottom of its ever-expanding category.

For $499 MSRP, you get a post with either 170mm or 200mm of travel, in either 31.6 or 30.9mm diameter. (Stack height is 225mm.)

With those dimensions, TranzX aims for better compatibility across more bikes, and to max out the benefit of the post's travel, it said in a press release.

Bluetooth compatibility links the post's function to your dropper lever, via two remotes. You may not pay the price in dollars, but you’ll pay it in grams: claimed weight is a hefty 730-748g depending on diameter (200mm travel version).

In a description fitting a company known for traditional dropper posts, the EDP01 "focuses on simplicity, value, and reliability," TranzX said.
