Monday, June 5

City Council Meeting. 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend City Council meetings. This meeting will be held in-person and virtually and will include four public hearings. Sip & Shimmy. Midway Farms, 6980 NW HWY 20, Albany. 2 p.m. Join Midway Farms for a special Sip & Shimmy event in the glorious open garden! The event begins at 6 p.m. with a belly dance class led by a member of the local Tribal Rising Dance troupe. No experience required for this class. People of all levels, shapes, sizes, and abilities are welcome. Bring a yoga mat to sit on for the opening and closing stretching. After class, shop at the wonderful organic, gluten free farm store, and sip on a glass of wine. Award-winning winemaker David, of Aurora Colony Vineyards, will be on hand to help you choose the perfect glass or bottle. In addition to wine, there will be snacks – including gluten free pastries, tamales, and other beverages – available for purchase. Enjoy yourself at table seating or bring a picnic blanket. The wine tasting will run from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The dance will run from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. There's a suggested class donation of $5. Midway Farms is a dedicated gluten free space. Benton County Board of Commissioners Tuesday Board Meeting. 9 a.m. Attend in Person: Board of Commissioners Office, Kalapuya Holmes & Shipley Public Meeting Rooms, 4500 SW Research Way, Corvallis, OR 97333 Zoom. Outdoor Storytime. Central Park, 650 NW Monroe Ave., Corvallis. 10:30 a.m. family storytime in Central Park every Tuesday and Thursday in June, July and August*!   If the weather is inclement, storytime will be held in the Main Meeting room in the Library. Housing Operational Committee. 12 p.m. The Housing Operational Committee (HOC) will meet virtually at 12:00 p.m. The HOC meets, as needed, to assist staff with preparing draft documents for policy change that will eventually be presented to the Council for review. Southtown Farmstand & Market. 1465 SE Alexander Ave., Corvallis. 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Free. Browse fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables as well as other produce from a variety of vendors every Tuesday evening from May 2, 2023 to Oct. 31, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be vendors selling animal products, vegan desserts, gluten free items, crafts, drinks, jams, pickles, plants, mushrooms, plants and more. Many items are ready to eat. Linger and enjoy old-fashioned community fun and the Southtown Farmstand & Market, "Where the sidewalk ends and community begins." Corvallis Farmers Market. Downtown Corvallis, 1st St., Corvallis. 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Free. The Corvallis Farmers Market happens Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 9am to 1pm, April through November, on First Street in downtown Corvallis. The Farmers Market offers fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy and more, all sourced locally from Benton County and the counties immediately surrounding Benton County. Summer Farm Tours. Terra Bella Farm, 6959 Northeast Elliott Circle, Corvallis. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. $5 – $10. Experience Terra Bella Farm's eleven acres during the beautiful summer season. Meet and interact with Terra Bella's alpacas, dwarf goats, and chickens, including feeding them, petting them, and brushing them. There are multiple time slots per day available for tours. Enjoy a beautiful Willamette Valley sunset with a view of Marys Peak from Terra Bella's beautiful (weather permitting). Alpacas or goats (your choice) are roaming with you while you get cozy. Terra Bella will provide warm blankets, comfy outdoor furniture, games to keep you entertained, and snacks to spoil the alpacas or goats. The experience includes one thermos of hot cider or a cold bottle of sparkling cider as well as a bag of six homemade cookies. If you would like to upgrade your experience you can add extra cider and/or bags of cookies at checkout.
